Let’s have some fun playing 4 in a Row!
To get started, simply take turns dropping chips into the columns to try and get four in a row. You can do this by clicking on a column or clicking and dragging your chip into a column. The goal is to connect four pieces in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. You can play against the computer, a friend, or challenge other players online.
4 IN A ROW TIPS & TRICKS
Block Those Winning Spaces! As you play, keep an eye out for groups of three discs in any direction. If you can, drop one of your pieces to block off that fourth spot. If you can’t block it right away, or if the winning space is on the second row, be careful not to drop your piece below that spot.
Control the Center Stage! Any horizontal or diagonal string of four pieces must include a piece from the center column. So, try to set up as many pieces as you can in the center early on and build your lines around that. It’s like setting up the main act in a play!
Pay Attention to Your Opponent! As you play, take note of your opponent’s moves and try to predict their strategy. Watch their moves closely to determine your best move. For example, if you see your opponent has set up a row of two with an open space on each side, block one of the sides with your color. This will quickly prevent them from setting up a winning row.
Plan Ahead, But Don’t Get Ahead of Yourself! 4 in A Row is a strategic game, so think ahead and plan your moves. But don’t get too far ahead, or your opponent might catch on and block your next move! As you’re planning, think about how your opponent will counter your next move.
The Figure 7: A Winning Formation! If you can arrange your pieces in a “7” formation, you’re almost guaranteed to win. Try to connect horizontal and diagonal lines of three with two blank spaces at the end of the horizontal line. This will distract your opponent and allow you to complete the diagonal line and snag victory!
I hope these tips help you become a 4 in A Row master!
